There is a great deal I want to accomplish this week in my role as a work at home mom, I told a business coach. She helped me determine a starting point and then she told me to “play with it”.
Play with it?! Hard work and dedication are more like it, I’m a thinkin’. That’s what the corporate world taught me: Work it.
Wait a minute…doesn’t “play with it” sounds like much more fun? More appealing? Way more approachable? Doesn’t “play with it” make me more ready to get started and dig in?
So I determined to “play with it!” It got me started and lasted about the first ½ hour, but overall I’d say I failed miserably. I got the job done and it feels terrific to have it done, but it felt like really hard work as I slogged through it. Sigh.
But I’m not giving up on the approach. I just need to give more thought, I think, about what “playing with it” will look and feel like for me! And then more practice playing!
