Judging

Do you ever feel judged for being or wanting to be a work at home mom?

Some judge you as a sub-optimal mom because your time is not fully spent in that arena.

Others may judge you as an inferior professional because you work at home, rather than the “real world.”

You may even have both set of thoughts about yourself! I know I have. We can be our own worst critics sometimes.

Don’t pay any attention to these critics’ voices (even your own).

They may be jealous, uninformed, or simply of limited vision at the moment. Be thankful you can step outside the “shoulds” and take a less-traveled path.

Ooohhh I hate that! When I was a stay at home mom, I used to get the ,” Oh you stay home all day doing nothing?” Someone really said that to me! I was busy with my baby at the time and didn’t want to work. Once he went to school, I tried working outside of them home that didn’t work out. I had to miss a few of his school functions so I quit. Then I became a work at home mom, and I still get the rude comments. They act as if I stay home all day doing nothing. And I am embarrassed to say this but I am sometimes embarrassed to tell people I work at home. I love my job (independent contractor as a home typist, transcriptionist, etc.) but am not embarrassed of that. I get embarrassed by the comments…thanks for such a wonderful post. I am not going to pay attention to the critics anymore!
